Summer temperatures in the mountains ... what you need to know before you buy

Many people are under the impression that just being in the mountains is enough to ensure cool summers. Not so! In general, one needs to be at least 3,000 feet above sea level for summer temps to rarely go over 80 degrees. Luckily, the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau ranges from 3,000 to over 5,000 feet above sea level, so we are quite comfortable in the summertime.
